Fergus Hall graduated from Edinburgh University with a Masters in Art History in 1995, and has been purchasing paintings at auction since 1991.

He initially embarked on a career in the City working as a corporate financier, and later moved into private equity. During that time he joined the boards of a number of companies including Farrow & Ball, the leading luxury paints business.

Following a number of significant discoveries at auction while building his private collection, Fergus decided to leave the City and follow his life-long passion for art by setting up as an independent dealer.

We specialise in Old Masters, primarily seventeenth century Dutch & Flemish paintings, and British Paintings pre 1850. The gallery also has a growing interest in Italian, French and Spanish Old Masters, and will consider any painting of quality.

Our work is led by extensive academic research into the paintings we deal in, coupled with rigorous connoisseurship built up from nearly 20 years experience of studying Old Masters.
